Handwashing is an important part of caregiving. Taking the time to properly scrub one's hands can prevent the passing of illnesses and infections from senior to caregiver, or vice versa. The key is to lather and wash thoroughly for at least 15 seconds. Sounds simple, but this process is often rushed, thus less effective.
