We are a dedicated team of caring and compassionate individuals who specialize in the senior industry.
Our success is measured by how many lives we benefit by providing outstanding care to seniors and support for families.
Henri Chazaud
Henri Chazaud has worked in all facets of the senior care industry for 15 years. His experience ranges from direct, hands-on care for the elderly to running the daily operations of a senior community with over 350 residents.
Henri began his career in senior dining services at an upscale retirement community in Pebble Beach, Ca. As a graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America Hyde Park, NY, Henri has a passion for food and worked in such fine dining establishments as Maximes, Oceana and La Cote Basque. He also developed and oversaw a food program for the National Science Foundation that helped nourish over 1,500 people in Antarctica with four meals a day.
Most recently, Henri served as the Director of Hospitality Services at The White Sands of La Jolla. His duties covered the spectrum of operations including overseeing housekeeping, dining services, maintenance and security.
During his tenure at The White Sands, Henri was directly involved with a room renovation and expansion project that added independent villas, a memory care center, and an assisted living wing.
While Henri’s operations and dining experience formed the core of his career, it’s his direct work with senior residents that gave him a thorough understanding of the aging process. As abilities diminished for some residents, Henri was able to assist with both the emotional and physical challenges they faced. The seniors benefited from his calm demeanor and genuine desire to assist them in living their best life possible.
As the founder of Keepsake Companions, Henri knows the importance of personalized planning for senior care and he is available 24 hours a day/7 days a week to meet each client’s needs.
Kristen Chazaud
Kristen Chazaud began working with the senior population as a Dining Services Director. It was in this role that she began an eye-opening and fulfilling journey into the world of senior care. She watched as elderly gentlemen respectfully stood when she approached their table, and marveled at the ways the women supported each other and created a sense of community. She was moved by the grace with which this accomplished group of residents handled aging. Sometimes it was a carefully choreographed dance so that medications would work in time for socializing, or the meticulous application of makeup with arthritic hands in time for an entrance to the dining room.
Over the years, Kristen garnered a wide range of experience working with seniors who lived independently, those who needed assisted or memory care, and those who required skilled nursing. She also worked for non-profit and for-profit senior communities in the areas of marketing, food service, and operations. In each community where she worked, Kristen noticed the limitations in terms of the population the facility could serve. Some could accommodate memory care patients, while others could not. Some could accommodate diabetic seniors, while others could not. Kristen found herself having to say “I’m sorry, I can’t help” to too many families and decided she wanted to be able to help everyone regardless of their health or financial status.
Keepsake Choices, a consulting, placement, and referral company, was born out of Kristen’s desire to share her knowledge in a way that would help every client find the right fit for their care. The success of Keepsake Choices allowed Kristen and her husband Henri to branch out and offer a complete senior care package through the addition of Keepsake Companions. Their solid reputations in the senior care business, along with a strong focus on helping people before the bottom line, have resulted in an unparalleled offering for senior care.
